Consumer Perspective
What CBD does produce, according to its advocates in the industry is relief from certain psychological and physical symptoms. Among those who have actually tried CBD, 86% in the U.S. and UK believe it to be effective for physical ailments and 84% believe it to be effective for mental health symptoms. So that partly explains what all the fuss is about!
Why it's important to research
However, given the fact that CBD is still relatively in its infancy and is about to enter it’s formal phase of regulation - more on this soon - unfortunately, there are some products out there that aren’t genuine. This is where the CBD ingredients on the back of a box do not always reflect what is in the bottle.
For example, following a study conducted back in 2019, a substantial 62% of wellbeing products didn’t contain the CBD content promised on the label. While 45% of products were found to contain a detectable amount of THC, which is illegal in the UK. This is pretty shocking.
So, in a nutshell, what we’re trying to say is that you need to do your research and if you’re keen to engage with CBD - find a brand you can trust.
Next Level Transparency
At Conscious {by design}, as a wellness company we’re not trying to pull the wool over your eyes with false information or unnecessary marketing fluff. We believe in honesty and transparency - from the sourcing of our premium CBD oil to clear dosage instructions, one strength and four functions. It’s simple.
Stay tuned to find out more information about the myths about CBD and the upcoming changes for the CBD industry as a whole in the UK and what that ultimately means to you, the consumer.
If you find yourself yawning your way through the week – chances are you could be experiencing sleep issues. According to NHS guidelines, most adults need between 6 and 9 hours of sleep every night, and too much variation in your bedtime routine can lead to too little sleep.
However, between hectic jobs, family commitments and active social lives it’s becoming increasingly difficult to de-stress, unwind and get our full 6 to 9 hours every night.
All those sleepless nights have an impact on your appetite and mood. More worryingly, profuse sleep deprivation has also been linked to serious medical conditions including obesity, heart disease and diabetes.
The good news? If the tiredness you are experiencing is sleep related, there are lots of things you can do to improve your sleep.
So take a seat, relax, unwind and read on.
It may seem like simple advice, but one of the best ways to get a good night’s sleep and wake up on-time is to establish a regular sleep schedule. So try to set a realistic bedtime that works for you and that you can stick to. It’ll help programme your brain and internal body clock to boost your alertness and make mornings much easier.
First off, it's important to remember that everyone metabolises caffeine differently, so not everyone is going to respond to it in the same way.
But what we do know is that, no matter who you are, caffeine can elevate your levels of cortisol, aka the stress hormone. So avoid drinking coffee four to six hours before bedtime.
Rituals can go a long way in promoting rest and relaxation. So start implementing nighttime habits that encourage self-reflection and peace of mind. Taking a warm shower or bath before bedtime is a chance to reflect and wash all the stress from the day down the drain.
Or consider adding a warm and cosy mug of bedtime tea with RECLINE. Infused with magnesium and natural botanicals such as calming lavender, chai, chamomile and cacao - to benefit body and mind and promote inner calm.

We’re excited for you to experience the benefits of our mindfully crafted products, although we’re sure you have questions. There are a lot of pros and cons about CBD and it’s easy to become misinformed.
As stewards of this plant we are here to shed light on some of the common myths associated with CBD and to address some of the questions surrounding its wellbeing benefits.
Myth: CBD will get you high
People falsely believe that CBD has the same effects as marijuana because it’s derived from the same plant. However, CBD and THC do not have the same psychoactive properties, CBD will not get you “high”. THC gives you that “high” feeling, whereas CBD is non-psychoactive.
This means that you can use Cannabidiol freely without having any traces of THC and it’s 100% legal.
Myth: It has no medical merits
Not so long ago, the FSA approved a CBD-based drug to treat seizure disorders, which was once very difficult to address. The more educated you are on the proper use of the product, the better the chance you’ll get the benefit from it. With universities being allowed to conduct research on CBD, it’s only a matter of time before these claims will have sufficient scientific backing in near the future.
Myth: “I tried CBD for a couple of weeks and it doesn’t work”
Like anything health related, you have to be intentional when seeking a solution. What’s the problem and how can I address it? It’s like taking a painkiller when you’re not suffering from any pain.
The industry advocates are still discovering the therapeutic benefits of CBD, but here’s what we are aware of. Your body has something called an endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate a range of functions and processes, including; sleep, mood, appetite, memory, reproduction and fertility. CBD positively interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system to improve these processes, supporting your body and mind so you feel better.
There are a lot of factors that can influence how long it takes to start feeling the effects of CBD, such as the dose, method and metabolism. It can take a few weeks of taking a CBD product consistently before noticing a difference and being able to determine how your body is reacting to it, especially if you are not experiencing acute symptoms. CBD may take a little experimenting to figure out how much you should be taking and how you want to take it.
Myth: More is better
It’s always best to find the perfect dose for you in order to see effective results. Start with small doses and increase as needed until you achieve the effect desired and you can determine how your body reacts especially since everyone metabolizes things differently.
Myth: CBD is addictive
In a comprehensive report on CBD, the World Health Organisation (WHO) reported on its potential for addiction. The report concluded: “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.”
There you have it, with so many misleading statements both for and against CBD, it can be a minefield for consumers when considering incorporating a CBD infused wellness product into your daily regime. However, you can trust that we have done our due diligence and can stand by the quality of our products and the care that has gone into creating a range that meets our very high standards.
We’re always on hand to answer any questions you may have.
What is CBD?
CBD is one of the most versatile additions you can make to your wellness routine. CBD is short for Cannabidiol, one of the naturally occurring compounds (cannabinoids) found in hemp, and the cannabis plant. CBD does not contain THC so it is legal and won’t get you high. It’s used by millions worldwide as a natural way to support wellness. Unlike most CBD, which is sourced from the US, Conscious {by design} uses premium 99.6% pure Swiss-grade CBD, to reduce air miles. And for added reassurance, it’s third-party tested for purity.
How does CBD work?
Before we can answer that question, it’s important to understand the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
Think of your ECS as an internal circuit board. So far, we know the ECS influences pain, memory, mood, appetite, stress, sleep, metabolism, immune, and reproductive processes. While your body naturally produces its own neurotransmitters called endocannabinoids to support your ECS, chronic stress, poor diet can elevate or interrupt this self-sufficient production.
CBD is a plant-produced cannabinoid (AKA, a phytocannabinoid) that helps to restore and maintain ECS balance. Similar to an adaptogen, CBD can sense what your body needs, and will trigger either biochemical upticks or downticks accordingly.
CBD works in harmony with receptors in your body’s endocannabinoid system, which regulate important functions including mood. CBD supports the natural balance of these receptors to nurture your wellness.
There are many different ways you can incorporate a daily source of CBD goodness into your life. Choosing the right delivery method for you is down to individual choice, so consider what you want to use CBD for and how often you wish to take it.

The way that you feel in the morning is really important. Having a good morning routine will help you feel more relaxed, alert and energised, so you’re mentally and physically prepared to take on whatever the world has in store for you.
So try to start your day off the right way with these four morning habits:
A great way to start your day is to set your alarm a little earlier and take a few minutes to be mindful. Visualise the day you see unfolding. Think about the mood you want to be in. And re-centre your mind and body with a few stretches and breathing exercises. This tip is oh-so-simple, but the effects can be life-changing.
Replacing a morning coffee with a pint of water immediately helps rehydrate and cleanse the body. But if you still feel that you need a boost of energy, IMMERSE wellness pour is infused with natural botanicals to help revive your mind without the twitchiness of coffee and come down. Simply dilute it with water and drink it in the morning or whenever you want to feel alert. Feel your way and find what works for you.
When you feel “put together”, it’s one less thing to worry about throughout your busy day. Of course, it’s never too early for self-care, so wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your hair and dress to impress – whatever it takes to make you feel good about yourself.
A healthy breakfast will kick-start your metabolism and give you energy. So it’s little wonder why it’s often referred to as “the most important meal of the day”. Try to choose lean proteins, healthy fats and whole grains to conserve your energy throughout the day and help you focus.
The key to a good morning routine is choosing the habits that work best for you. Also, try to keep your checklist short enough so that it doesn’t feel like a burden. That way, you’ll start your day with a positive mindset.
